The weather is starting to cool off, nights become brisk and the food gets warm and savory.
Do you feel a sense of belonging, hanging onto a memory from “home” or a timeless way of celebrating your heritage?
The word “tradition” itself came from the Latin traderee, which means to handover, to give for safekeeping, and to treasure. Looking at the meaning of “tradition” we can understand that traditions can come from many years or even generations ago. These traditions and customs instill values and beliefs. When we share these times we are inviting into a personal place that we often hold dear.
As we are now into the fall season, we wanted to ask you: what are the traditions that you enjoy? We asked the team here at Eminent SEO to share a few pieces of our traditions.
Enjoying Change
Pumpkin Patch, carving pumpkins, roasting the pumpkin seeds, and hayrides are common celebrations Amanda and for the rest of Team ESEO, as well.
Here in Arizona, fall is different than most places. The weather gets cooler and we can enjoy the outdoors all day. A few of the outdoor events that are enjoyed this time of year are:
Zach – sweatshirt shopping, and going to Verde Valley.
Valery – camping, and campfires and s’mores!
Chris W. – spending quality time with the kids outside and enjoying seasonal coffees.
Cherry – going to the Arizona State Fair – Especially the concerts.
Renee – football, carving pumpkins and decorating.
Tatiana – lives in the Rocky Mountain region. She likes to drive to the Snowy Mountains to enjoy the scenery and take family photos.
Who Loves Halloween?
As you can tell, we share some similarities for celebrating the fall. Halloween traditions have evolved over time, in common, Halloween was the nights the spirits were out. Filled with mischief, fear and pranks, see what pranks and mischief we are up to this fall:
Jenny – I love decorating for fall/Halloween… it’s my favorite time of year with the changing leaves, crisp cool air, hot cider and fires in the fire place.
We usually have a big Halloween party with lots of festive food and drinks. We love to dress up and decorate the front yard and inside of the house.
DiAne – We REALLY enjoy the Halloween and harvesting season. We decorate for Halloween as soon as the summer storms are over. Scary movies, scary stories, skeletons, witches and pumpkins.
We enjoy the weather as a family and are grateful for all we have.
Let’s Not Forget a Celebration has Food
What is it about pumpkin spice and cinnamon apple?
Lacey adds a special touch to her traditions with food and alcohol (apple pie flavored).
Kirstin enjoys the harvest with hot apple cider and apple pie –and salted caramel mochas.
Speaking of spices, Chris B. also enjoys making lots of soups with his family. As does Valery and Kirstin. Soup is a fall staple using spices and a variety of in season vegetables; it’s the perfect dinner to keep your tummy warm.
You see, no matter where you are from, or what you do it usually comes down to food, family and fun. We hope you take time to recognize and enjoy the retiring nature and how in season it will grow again. In all, this season is a time for reflection as one year passes and another one unfolds. Celebrate life, new beginnings and human connections.
Did we mention your favorite fall traditions? Share with us, how do you celebrate fall?
