I know there is bound to be an uproar about this whole ‘Facebook Timeline’ but quite frankly I love it… so many unique features and ‘featured’ areas to share with friends and family. And activity amongst your friends just got that much easier to filter out.
Facebook Timeline is what you’d call a recap of everything that has EVER happened in your Facebook lifespan. It’s pretty much your personal story book of your life that you’ve helped pretty much document online over the course of your relationship with Facebook.
Well if you’re antsy, there’s steps below on how to get the new Facebook Timeline profile, otherwise just wait it out, everyone will have it come September 29th.
You too can get the new profile before it’s official release … and it takes just about 5minutes

You may have noticed some changes when you logged into Facebook this morning and a stream of angry status updates about the changes as well. Here’s a lil run down of the changes and how to understand what’s happening on Facebook today.
News Feed: See What Matters at the Top
One of the new changes is the news feed. “News Feed will act more like your own personal newspaper,” Facebook says in a blog post. Facebook has removed “Top Stories and Most Recent” links on the top of the News Feed and replaced it with a feed that adjusts content based on the last time you checked it. If you haven’t been on Facebook for a few days it will pull the top stories from your network. If you’re a more frequent visitor of Facebook, your News Feed will act on the most recent content in chronological order. Facebook has also given the ability to mark and unmark a “Top Story” in your news feed. Photos are also going to be a lot larger while you’re scrolling through as well.
Ticker: Join Friends in Real-Time
The second change to take affect is the real-time ticker on the right side of the page. Sometimes there’s a lag with the “News Feed” and depending on how many friends you have things can get missed or overlooked. “Ticker shows you the same stuff you were already seeing on Facebook, but it brings your conversations to life by displaying updates instantaneously. Now when a friend comments, asks a question or shares something like a check in, you’ll be able to join the conversation right away. Click on anything in ticker to see the full story and chime in – without losing your place”, says Facebook.
Birthday Wishes: All in one spot
Sending Birthday wishes just got a lil easier with less steps. Now when you see the individuals who are celebrating their birthday on the right side of your “News Feed” you will be able to now send them a wish without visiting their page. You can now send everyone a birthday wish by simply click on the birthdays icon and a pop up will reveal itself with an option to input a message right there for each individual. You can keep track of who you’ve already wished a happy birthday and whom is still needing some birthday love!
There are definitely a lot more changes to come and minor tweaks happening all the time on Facebook but hope this clears up a little about what’s happened with Facebook today!

Late last night, Facebook made a subtle change to the navigation bar at the top, it is now locked in place. What does this mean? You now have a view of notifications at all times. Sure you get the little pop up bubble on the bottom left hand corner but now you will see the friend requests, messages, and notifications at all times in the navigation bar.
Look familiar? You guessed it! Both Twitter and Google+ have implemented this subtle improvement to their sites as well over the course of the last month. For anyone who’s ever tried to catch up on News Feed updates and found themselves pages below the navigation bar when they received a notification, this is a welcome change. No more losing your place to find out you only got invited to an event you really don’t want to attend anyway.

Looks like things just got a little sweeter for Facebook. With all the changes this week who knew, this one was coming? Miramax is partnering with Facebook to launch an app to allow users to rent movies directly from Facebook. It’s still in the young beginning stages, so it’s limited to 20 titles for the U.S. but will open up more titles in time.
Access will include computer, t.v., smartphone and other platforms in which you’re able to access Facebook.
Rentals will cost about 30 Facebook credits, which in real money amounts to $3. Once you’ve rented the movie you will have 48 hours to finish the movie. Now keep in mind the app is still in beta but should be available immediately.
I personally think $3 is still a bit pricey per a rental, but Facebook is truly turning into your one stop shop. If they could iron out the prices to be a lil more competitively cheaper, why would you go anywhere else?

When you thought that reading the feed of your beloved friends wasn’t enough, Facebook did it again and in came a Subscribe button! That’s right. Facebook has rolled out a new feature that will now allow you the opportunity to hear the ‘voice’ of celebrities, journalists, prominent figures and other people as well. Just simply click the Subscribe button and bam! Their public updates are now in your News Feed.
No worries. You’ll be able to control what it is exactly that you are subscribing to. Whether it be the game updates, events, etc. so you’re not ambushed with a ridiculous amount of news.
A user will have the option of adding a “subscribe” button to their profile to enable people who are not their friends to see their public updates in their News Feeds, rather than having to visit their profile page directly. You will then receive a notification when someone has signed up to see your updates, and will have the option of controlling who can comment on and “like” your posts.
“We want to give people more control over what people see in their News Feeds,” Gleit said. “Facebook is growing quickly and people have more and more friends, but they care about different people more or less, and different stories more or less.”

Facebook posted a blog entry of the improvements they have made in creating the Smart Friend Lists.
Smart lists – You’ll see smart lists that create themselves and stay up-to-date based on profile info your friends have in common with you–like your work, school, family and city.
Close Friends and Acquaintances lists – You can see your best friends’ photos and posts in one place, and see less from people you’re not as close to.
Better suggestions – You can add the right friends to your lists without a lot of effort.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. The search engines are looking at a LOT of things, but one primary way to ensure your site gains authority and ranks for the keywords people are searching for to find your site – is to build links. So, we thought we would give you a few:
Link Building Tips:
*Tip: Use longer tailed and geo targeted keywords in your link building for better conversions!
It’s important to understand your client base and what they are searching for, but it’s more important to target keywords that will CONVERT than those with just the highest search volumes. Many times the long tail keyword phrases (think: “bankruptcy lawyer in Phoenix Arizona”) are much better for conversions than the root term (ex: “bankruptcy lawyer”) even though they have lower search volumes. Also, long tail keywords are generally much less competitive and therefore much easier (and less costly) to rank for!
*Tip: Use variety in your keyword selection to avoid an artificial backlink portfolio! (Panda Update says so!)
It’s always been important to target multiple keyword phrases and pages within your website, but after the Panda update it’s become even more important. Google is sophisticated enough to detect a pattern in the keyword usage. So, if you want to rank for an important term, use it – but also use similar supporting terms in a variety of ways to ensure Google doesn’t flag your new links as potentially phony. Example: Want to rank for “Nike Shoes”? Build links using terms like: “Buy Nike Shoes”, “Buy Nike Shoes Online”, “Discount Nike Shoes”, “Mens Nike Shoes”, etc
*Tip: Your links should come from many different types of websites for a more natural looking portfolio!
Sure, there are high quality sites, strong in the key elements that make it an ideal site for hosting your link (think: higher Page Rank, Aged Domain, Strong in Relevancy, etc) but if every link pointing to your site uses the “perfect” criteria, it actually creates suspicion with Google. Not everyone that would naturally chose to link to you would come from high quality sites. Mix it up and make sure there is variety in your backlinks. The more diverse, the more natural the link building efforts appear.

You could say, Google+ is the ‘new’ hot social network to hit the web. I mean as of June 28, about 25million people have visited Google+. Here’s the breakdown by country, according to comScore:

Know what your consumers are saying about you? It’s really the best and only way to maintain your relationships via Email, Facebook and Twitter. Granted, communication is key in a relationship, but don’t be quick to forget it goes both ways. Your consumers are listening to you, but are you listening to them? If not, they’ll question what they are getting out of the relationship. You don’t want to smother them, and or bore them for that matter. So reciprocate and quit making it all about you, all the time, and you may get some; retweets, followers, and subscribers that is!
